Competition Overview
All SSU students from any major or degree program are eligible to apply and participate. Pitches can be delivered by individuals or teams and will be judged by guest entrepreneurs and business leaders. The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program offers expert feedback, mentoring, coaching, contacts, and other resources to prepare student entrepreneurs in advance for the pitch competition, and afterward in launching their businesses.
Cash Prizes
- Best Overall Presentation: $1,000
This will be awarded to the presentation that scores the highest across all criteria (see the Scoring Criteria section for details on the criteria). - Most Innovative: $600
This will be awarded to the presentation that is best at convincing the judges that the idea is innovative. - Most Social Impact: $600
This will be awarded to the presentation that is best at showing the judges the social impact of the idea. See the footnote on the scoring rubric to what is meant by social impact. Many different types of products and services can have an impact on society while also making a profit for the company. - Most Commercially Viable: $600
This will be awarded to the presentation that is best at convincing the judges of the commercial viability of the idea.
