Rohnert Park, California - The School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Sonoma State University (SSU) today announced that Dr. William S. Silver, Dean and Professor of Leadership, released a new book entitled, Way of Zing: A Guide to Aligning Work & Life, with co-author Mark Gregory Nelson, former SBE Entrepreneur in Residence, who was enlisted to help develop SBE's entrepreneurial culture and curriculum. The new book presents ideas that emerged from this business-education partnership, including a framework to better integrate work and life, as professionals increasingly seek careers at organizations that share their values, and employers continue to require innovative ways to engage current and future employees.

"We challenge conventional ideas of work-life balance, talent management, and career success by bringing awareness to human energy management, and the connection between your core passions, purpose, and the real value that you offer to others," Dr. William Silver, Dean of the School of Business and Economics and co-author said. "Personal values, ideas, and feelings have relevance in the workplace and should influence how organizations engage their employees. Aligning talent and energy with goals and mission will help them better tackle long-term business challenges as markets shift, people change, and the economy evolves."
