Rohnert Park, CA - The School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Sonoma State University (SSU) announced that a group of Executive MBA (EMBA) students and faculty are embarking on a two-week international excursion, September 12 through 25, 2015, for meetings and activities with executives and industry officials at companies in Denmark and Estonia. The group will spend one week in Copenhagen, Denmark and a second week in Tallinn, Estonia, to gather a global business perspective on their studies, companies, and U.S. commerce, by interfacing with experts in European business, education, government, technology, and healthcare industries.
"As business becomes increasingly complex and global, Sonoma's EMBA program is a step ahead in providing graduates the opportunity to interact and learn from industry experts abroad. This kind of in-country consulting opportunity is unparalleled and designed to develop leadership communication skills, teamwork, self-assessment, and self-reflection - all critical abilities for successful executives," John Stayton, Executive Director of Graduate and Executive Programs said.
While in Copenhagen, students will meet with representatives from Copenhagen Capacity, a nonprofit dedicated to growing business capacity and international competitiveness; Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship, an incubator for startup businesses; State of Green, a public-private partnership between the Danish government, Confederation of Danish Industry, Danish Energy Association, Danish Agriculture & Food Council, and the Danish Wine Industry Association; and officials of the City of Copenhagen, which is aiming to become the first carbon-neutral capital city by 2025.
Meetings scheduled in Estonia include Enterprise Estonia, dedicated to promoting business and regional policy, and one of the nation's largest institutions for entrepreneurship; Guardtime, a team of U.S. and European scientists, network architects, software developers, and security specialists dedicated to building cybersecurity solutions for Estonia's military; E-health Foundation, which promotes and develops national e-solutions for high-quality and accessible health care services; TTU Meketory, a technology university aiming to bring together scientists, students, and entrepreneurs to solve product development problems and generate new ideas; and Cybernetica, a research and development company of software solutions.
