Prerequisite Courses

Prerequisite business courses are required to enroll in the MBA (purpose-driven and wine business for professionals) programs. You may use this program interest form link to upload your unofficial transcripts and our admissions team will let you know if all requirements have been met. If not, we have affordable online options to quickly complete any needed courses.

If you studied business as an undergraduate you have most likely completed all of the prerequisite requirement courses: Micro & Macro Economics, Financial & Managerial Accounting, Statistics, and Finance.

Prospective students may apply for admission to the program before completing prerequisite classes with the opportunity to be selected for "conditional" admission. Upon completion of needed courses, admitted students will then be updated to fully classified status.

*Prerequisite business course requirements are typically waived for Executive MBA candidates with six or more years of full-time work experience.

How much does the program cost?

The Sonoma Professional MBA & Professional Wine MBA programs cost approximately $25,000 for domestic students. For out of state or international students, the cost is approximately $35,000.

The Executive MBA programs cost $55,500 – all inclusive for both domestic and out of state/international students. Tuition, books, parking passes, and costs for the travel (excluding airfare) are included in that cost. The cost of lodging and flights for the in-country leadership intensives and cost of the flights for the international travel are not included.

Financing your MBA

A Sonoma MBA adds value to both the student and their employer, so many companies offer tuition assistance programs for their employees. Be sure to check with your employer to see if they offer this benefit.

Graduate students enrolled in at least 6 units per semester may be eligible for up to $20,500 per academic year from the Federal Direct Loan program. Some students also apply for Graduate PLUS loans. PLUS loans require a separate form that can be requested by emailing finaid@sonoma.edu.

Here are a few ways you can make financing the MBA program possible:

  • Talk to your employer about tuition reimbursement.
  • Apply for  Federal Financial Aid at studentaid.gov.
  • Apply for a scholarship.

Where do I learn more?

  • Attend an Information Session: This is a great way for you to be informed of the details of the program, ask questions, and meet our executive director, alumni, current students, and our program personnel.
  • Schedule a Call: Our admissions specialist is happy to answer any questions you may have.
