Gaining international business acumen is an essential element of our Global Wine Executive MBA program here at Sonoma State University. During our international trips, our MBA students apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts while developing the global perspectives necessary for success in today's interconnected business landscape. Let's delve into the highlights of our most recent trip to Bordeaux, France!

Herve Remaud from Kedge Business School orchestrated captivating and prestigious industry visits, offering us unparalleled exposure to the inner workings of the Bordeaux wine industry. Throughout the week, our visits to Estates such as Nadalié tonnellerie, Château d’Agassac, Château d’Issan, and Marquis de Terme, exposed us to the leaders and innovators who make the Bordeaux Region what it is. Visits to esteemed estates including Château Yquem, Château Cheval Blanc, La Chapelle Guiraud, Château Rayne Vignaud, and Château Faugères to discuss industry challenges only deepened our understanding of how unique the en primeur system is and what the current market for Sauternes looks like.

We were invited to a presentation and welcome drinks at Conseil Interprofessionnel Du Vin De Bordeaux (Bordeaux Wine Council) which provided us with a deep understanding of the Bordeaux wine industry, region and public image.

Undoubtedly, a highlight of our trip was the enlightening class on Talent Management, masterfully led by Cuiling Jiang, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at Kedge Business School. Through thought-provoking discussions and her profound expertise, she expanded our understanding of talent management practices tailored to the wine industry.

It was such a pleasure traveling with the GWEMBA 3 Cohort because they were so engaged with all aspects of the trip: in the classroom, with the hosts and speakers, and also in identifying some wonderful restaurants to meet in together at the end of each day. Thank you GWEMBA Cohort 3 - I learned so much from you all.

Insider experiences like these are only possible thanks to our community of talented educators and relationships with industry professionals all over the world. We cannot wait to witness the impact trips like this will have on our future students' professional growth!
