The School of Business and Economics Speaks About Purpose-Driven Business

October 14, 2022

ROHNERT PARK, CA. (October 14, 2022) – The School of Business and Economics (SBE) will be participating in Sonoma State University's (SSU) Fall Preview Day on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 10am to 3pm. This year the event has been re-designed and will feature 15-minute talks from SSU faculty members on timely and compelling industry topics. The presentations will be dynamic and energetic in fashion, similar to that of a TED Talk.

From the SBE, Assistant Professor of Management Dr. Nadiya Parekh will be sharing with students and parents how business organizations can discover their “'Purpose' Beyond Maximizing Profits?”. This conversation aligns with the mission of SBE which is committed to changing the world through growing leaders that are courageous, curious and kind; and who change the world through data insights, entrepreneurship and purpose driven business in the fields of Accounting, Economics, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Management, and Wine Business.

Dr. Parekh will speak about organizations from around the world who are looking to transform themselves to meet the needs of the 21st century and reflecting back on their “purpose”. Dr. Parekh will discuss what this transformative wave of Purpose-Driven Businesses (PDB) means for employees and leaders, and how the corporate world will need them to champion the cause of integrating purpose into business strategy.

“As one of the largest schools on campus, we are excited to be participating in SSU Fall Preview Day. The day is very important to us because it gives SBE an opportunity to meet newly admitted students and potentially new students and share with them the mission of SBE, to grow leaders who will change the world,” notes Dr. JF Coget, Dean of the SBE.

Preview Day is a free event but all attendees must register by Sunday, October 16. Please visit the Admissions Fall Preview Day website to register.
