David Sandri, CSW, WLS, WSET® Certified – Advanced, has been in various parts of the alcohol beverage industry for over 28 years. His experience ranges from retail wine buyer, broker, wholesaler, tasting room management, vineyard operations, winery operation, logistics, and regulatory issues. Over the past 15 years, he has focused on winery compliance and regulatory issues, as well as being an active wine judge, throughout California, the United States, and Internationally.

Since 2009, he regularly lectures through the Sonoma State University Wine Business Institute, on compliance and regulatory issues in the wine industry (such as original permitting and licensing; record keeping, maintenance and audits, and three-tier licensing for wineries); has presented about Direct-to-Consumer licensing and ethics to undergrad classes at SSU; and is a Faculty Member and Instructor in Wine Studies at the College of Marin, as well as teaching at Santa Rosa Junior College. He has given presentations on wine through such organizations as the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, CIA-Greystone, Lodi Wine Country, VESTA (Viticulture and Enology Science and Technology Alliance), KEDGE, Texas Wine Grape Growers Association and Southern Oregon Wine Institute. David has also been published internationally, on topics ranging from Smoke Taint in Wine to Winery Compliance issues. In addition to being a member such organizations as the Society of Wine Educators, he has previously served as a member of the Public Policy Committee for Wine Institute, on the board for the Wine Library Associates of Sonoma County, and on the board for the Petaluma Gap Winegrowers Alliance.
